Pasting in cell "A" wipes out Formula in cell "B"

I have a value in cell C191 and a simple formula which is just "=B9" in cell D191
When I paste a new value into cell C191, it accepts the pasted value, but it changes cell D191 to blank

If I type into C191, it works fine, but pasting wipes out the next cell. Notice in the picture that both cells are framed after the past.
I have this problem with a couple of the cells on the worksheet, but the rest off the nearly 100 work fine.

    Any idea?

Are you sure you are copy/pasting a singe cell, and not 2 side-by-side?

    Or copying a merged cell?

Re: Pasting in cell "A" wipes out Formula in cell "B"

In this case I had two values that were in two different web pages that I needed in this spreadsheet (in different rows) and several generations of the spreadsheet (different dated .xls files). I copied each of the values from the web pages to a single blank "notebook" sheet for a convenient source.

Every time I copied the first value from the notebook to the spreadsheet, it worked fine. Every time I copied the second value to the worksheet I got the results shown.

I had to manually type the second value every time to make it work.

I finally got to the bottom of this the other day when it happened again. It turned out that the source I copied the value from (a web page) was picking up a larger amount of data than was indicated by the copy shading in the source. This was causing the paste to wipe out the cell to it's right.
