I have a vlookup formula which looks up a value on an external workbook:
However, I need to look up the value in the first column on the left, i.e. L15. I had a look at INDEX & CHOOSE but it's got all very confusing.

1) What column do you want the result to come from?
2) What column do you want to compare the value in O1501 to?
With that info, we should be able to help.

Here is a working VLOOKUP & CHOOSE formula that I came up with which returns the correct value from the first column to the left on the same worksheet - does this help? Feel free to change the O1501 reference.
