Change Date based on due date passed

    Hi all.

I'm doing a budget sheet at home and want to update next due date baded on IF todays date has passed, change the due date to the following month with same day.

Example. Would be. today is the 03/10/19 I have a due date " 04/10/19 " . i want this to change to 04/11/19 automatically once todays date is greater or has passed this due date.
and then Same again with november changing to December and so forth. I can get it towork using "date(year(),month()+1,day())" but this only works for the first time and nothing after.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks
    Adrian

Re: Change Date based on due date passed

    Welcome to the forum

Please attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

Re: Change Date based on due date passed

Hello Murdo132 and Welcome to Excel Forum.
A way to do something similar to what you describe is presented on Sheet2 of the attached file.
The start dates of the loans are placed in C3:C5
The next due dates (C8:C10) are populated using:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

Cell E1 contains the current date. Note that for demonstration purposes I used 11/3/2019 (November 3rd 2019)
If the setup is something with which you can work, paste =TODAY() into cell E1.
Let us know if you have any questions.

Excellent. This works very well indeed. Thanks for the help. I will adjust to fit my own worksheet now.

    Just out of curiousity?

Is it possible to do the same thing without the starts dates.

Re: Change Date based on due date passed

I let this sit a couple of days to see if someone else would come up with a solution that doesn't include the start dates.
It may be possible using VBA, however I don't know enough about VBA to say for certain.
If you find the proposal suitable, please mark the thread as 'Solved' using the thread tools menu above your first post.
I hope that you have a blessed day.
