I'm limited to Excel 2010 in this post. I know that 2013-2016 is more powerful with respect to this need but it is not available.
There may be a more efficient way to do this in 2010 so I'm open to suggestions. I tried using a VLOOKUP but it is not working or I'm not doing it properly.
What I'm trying to do:
I'm try to link two tables in separate worksheets but the same workbook. I would like Table2 to reference a couple columns in Table1. Table2 will be specific to different information. The real 2nd catch is (if possible) that Table two linked/referenced fields auto-populate when Table1 data is added, updated, or removed. Below is an example but not the data I'm working with... simply a mock-up.
Example: Name and State are referenced
Table1 [Sheet1] Table2 [Sheet2]
Name | State | Income | M/F | #Children Name | State | Career | S/M/D | Country
Bob | OH | 35,000 | M | 0 Bob | OH | Sales | M | US
Sue | WV | 50,000 | F | 2 Sue | WV | Mgmt | D | US
Thanks!
