Red face Categories and fifty percent

    Hi
I want to get a list of which Categories, including only the largest sums in Total, that represent about 50% of Total
    Total is not sorted
The red area in Total represent roughly about 50% (at least not less) of all the numbers in Total, and includes the largest values. This area will wary. Both in number of cells and values.

Example: I want the result in E3 and down, (green area) to be like this:
    20
    21
    22
    23
    24
    25
    26

    See attached worksheet.

    Hope this made sense

    Re: Categories and fifty percent

    Hi,

It would be easier if sorting was permitted but otherwise the attached with a couple of helper columns will do the job.
    D3:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    E3:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Copy D3:E3 down. Then in H3 copied down
    Formula: copy to clipboard

This formulas may not fit your requirement exactly.

    1. Create formula in a helper column (F)
    F3
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    copy down to F9

    2. Create formula in new cat.list (E)
    E3
Please Login or Register to view this content.
Results are listed from maximum value, not by cat. number.

    Regards.
