Hi All,
I need help.
I want to count the names of each row under one column.
For e.g., if the name is Poetic Ammo, i count it as 1.
Please find attached excel for reference.
Appreciate any kind help.

No it doesn't work... Sorry, I edited the post after you'd seen it. Why 8?? Which name doesn't count, and why?

For example, when i put numbers right, its easy to count. Whereas word, it is difficult.
I need to count the total character (for e.g., Poetic Ammo) = 1(thats for first row)
Second row (for e.g. Too Phat) = Its 2
Now in total, on row 1 & 2 , i have a total number of 2.
Hope this clarifies.
There are 8 rows of data. 7 seem to contain 1 name. the last row seems to contain 2. 7+2 = 9. So why is your expected answer 8????????
Thats just an example, i am not sure how to make you understand but what i want is that, for e.g., if i have 8 names under one column(separated) by each row, even though the person has 2 names (for e.g., Joe Flizzow), i need to count is 1. So for 8 rows, it is 8 names. If i have 1000 rows, it is 1000. Even if 400 under the 1000 rows have 2 names, it will count it as 1. Your formula works!

Im not sure why you saying it doesnt work, when i tried it works!
Mate im keep repeating 8 was just a sample.
Look at your sample sheet. You said your expected answer was 8. As far as I can see there are NINE.
I see 8, i dont know how you got 9(Please dont count the subject-Name)

Wthe the conjunction "and" in the cell it sure looks like two names. So. Alll you want to do is count the non-blank cells??
=COUNTA(B2:B9)
