    Index & Match Similar Strings

    Hi Guys:

I hope you're doing well. I have two source sheets which have tenants listed in different formats, and I need to place the sum of the data from each sheet into a third sheet which has a simplified format. Is there an Index/Match which can match similar strings? There are several tenants and this is a very long list I have to match.

    SHEET 1

    TENANT TOTAL
    - 25 Hour Fitness #043 555 $100,000
    - Bank of Mars #PCA444500000 $23,000

    SHEET 2

    TENANT TOTAL
    25 Hour Fitness #043 $30,000
    Bank of Mars #PCA4445 $10,000

    SHEET 3

    TENANT TOTAL
    25 Hour Fitness $130,000
    Bank of Mars $33,000

Have you looked at the fuzzy lookup add in from Microsoft?

it is free and works nicely for exact and not exact matches.

    maybe here will help...
    https://www.got-it.ai/solutions/exce...l-fuzzy-lookup
I ended up following some of the prompts when I did it the first couple times.

You have to set up two tables that you are comparing - USE Ctrl L, NOT the name manager
    click on the FL tab
it will open a box - select the tables to compare
pick the items you are comparing
    make the equivalents
put your cursor where you want the results to show
pick the fields you want to show
    set the threshold
    hit go

You can adjust the threshold using the cursor or highlight the bar and use right and left arrows
to undo you can use the undo button OR highlight the fields and delete.

    Good luck.
