Question Autopopulate Calendar with color and multiple sheets

    Hello,

I have a vision for a master calendar, but it is far beyond my skills. Please help (or tell me it's impossible!)

    Criteria:
[LIST][*]Calendar that automatically fills given data on separate sheets (date, title, detail, unit, status) [*]Calendar needs to be linked to indefinite amount of sheets (i.e. being able to copy the original sheet and input information that will be added to the calendar without having to rewrite a function) [*]Calendar needs a color coded system to denote what organization the dates apply to. For example, if I list the "unit" as 145th, it would cause the cell with the information to be filled with the color blue on the calendar.

Thank you for any help you may provide. I apologize for not including an example, but I cannot at this time. Will update ASAP.

It would help if you attached a sample Excel workbook, and you are able (i.e. allowed) to do so even with only 1 post.

To do this, click on Go Advanced (below the Edit Window) while you are composing a reply, then scroll down to and click on Manage Attachments and the Upload window will open. Click on Browse and navigate to (and double-click) the file icon that you want to attach, then click on Upload and then on Close this Window to return to the Edit window. When you have finished composing your post, click on Submit Post.

Don't try to use the Paperclip icon, as it doesn't work on this forum.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

Here is a very rough example, the calendar isn't how I would like it, as I would like to be able to select Month/Year from a drop down menu! The idea is that I could copy each sheet to create another "task" with details that would auto populate on the calendar.

Actually, I was able to find an example of yours while look through the forms, which helped shed some light on the product I am attempting to create. I noticed you used the following formula to automatically populate data from a sheet to a calendar: =IF(ISNA(MATCH(G2&"_"&$A4,task!$A:$A,0)),"",INDEX(Task!$B:$B,MATCH(G2&"_"&$A4,task!$A:$A,0))

Could I use this same formula to link multiple sheets? Excellent work by the way. Your example calendar was titled, "ef89_scheduler", I would post the link, but I am unable to.

What I was really hoping you would include in your attachment was what your data looks like, but it didn't make much sense to me. Here's a couple more links to threads about calendars, and these 2 have multiple colours which you mentioned in your first post:

    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-gen...-workbook.html

(Post #22 has the finished calendar, but there are links to several others in other posts), and:

    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-for...-calendar.html

(Post#12 has the finished calendar). The one you refer to was submitted some time ago, and was specifically set up for the older .xls format files in XL2003 and earlier. That is why it uses IF(ISNA(MATCH... , but nowadays I would tend to use IFERROR(.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
