Inserting named ranges in wall of text with quotation marks issue

    Hi guys

Im trying to create an automated disclaimer page which is locked with a standard message (so that this file can then be used as a template by our team). It references the client company name and abbreviation (via a named range). It also references my firms full name with an abbreviation in brackets with quotation marks.

    The issue im getting is

    1) i cant get quotation marks around the client company names abbreviation (derived from named range).
    2) i keep getting error if i put quotation marks around my company's abbreviation (although not when i put them around a different word e.g. "Model").

The desired output is as follows:

This financial model ("Model") was built for a specific purpose by My Firm ("ABC") for ABC's client, Company Name ("Abbreviation") and ......(remaining text)

What i have so far is:

="This financial model (“Model”) was built for a specific purpose by My Firm (ABC) for ABC’s client, " & CoName & " (" & CoAbb & ") text."

The above however keeps giving me error when i put ("ABC") and I cant figure out what the change should be to the last bit so that client abbreviation has " i.e: ("Abbreviation") rather than just (Abbreviation).

CoName and CoAbb are the named ranges for Client Company Name and Client Company Name abbreviation.

I understand that putting quotation marks in the abbreviation named range would probably be the easy fix but id be using that named range for other purposes where i wouldnt want them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

Look at the section in red:

="This financial model (“Model”) was built for a specific purpose by My Firm (ABC) for ABC’s client, " & CoName & " (""" & CoAbb & """) ….remainder of disclaimer text...."

    Hi AliGW

Thank you! that did the job. Putting 3 quotation marks each side around CoAbb and putting 2 sets of quotation marks around (ABC).

Do you mind explaining why i had the issue with ("ABC") and not ("Model")?

I will update the forum topic to solved and gave you some +rep :-)

No idea, to be honest, but at least you know the trick now.

Although I do notice that the quotation marks around Model are not straight quotes - that's probably it.

right you are again! by using curly quotes i was able to shorten it to 1 curly 1 straight around the CoAbb part of formula as well.
btw slightly off topic but every time i go to edit post my whole post is blank so i basically need to copy and past the whole thing if i want to do something like change pre-fix before saving. weird dont rmb that being case last time i used forum.

Yes, it's a rather irritating known issue - it happens indiscriminately. Can't help you with it, I'm afraid - we don't really know why it happens, but you've identified the workaround!
