Explain the counts in column AJ - they make no sense to me.

Hi ,
See the attached file.
I have defined a named range called Numbers , to refer to your list of numbers.
The formula in the cells AM14:AM33 is :Formula:Please Login or Register to view this content.
entered in AM14 and copied down.
This is an array formula , to be entered using CTRL SHIFT ENTER.

Why not use the helper column and hide it?
" . . . Explain the counts in column AJ - they make no sense to me. . . ."
Thanks for the query
It is count of decimal places (For Example 8.53 means the formula will shows 2 as two digits). Cell AJ9 shows 14 but cell AI9 shows the value 8, here please move the mouse pointer to cell AI9 and press F2 then the cell AI9 will show 7.99999999999999 i.e., 14 decimal places.
I hope i have clarified to you.

An alternative to #3, but with normal (non-array) entry:
=SUMPRODUCT(--((LEN(Sheet1!$AI$4:$AI$138&".")-FIND(".",Sheet1!$AI$4:$AI$138&".",1)-1)=AL14))

No, you haven't. I realised what they were meant to be, but the numbers returned did not work. For example, the first item in the list has 8 decimal places, but your result shows 9. The entry below also has 8 decimal places, but your result shows 14 (I think).I hope i have clarified to you.
It's moot, as your issue has been resolved, but the results you have in that column seem random and incorrect to me.
Click on (e.g.) AI4. the cell value has an additional digit over the number displayed. ends 111
I can't be bothered - it's no longer of interest (although the solutions offered are). But thanks!
Hello Narayan
Thanks for the formula.
For Cell AM14 i just renamed your formula as <=SUM(IF(IFERROR((LEN($AI$4:$AI$148)-FIND(".",$AI$4:$AI$148,1)),0)=AL14,1))> and find working.
Thanks again
