Index Matching multiple variables (SELECT date FROM table WHERE serial = x AND step = y)

I am trying to do an index match where I can filter out the data by 2 variables instead of one. Since each serial number has multiple entries, I want to do something like this for anyone that knows MySQL SELECT date FROM table WHERE serial = x AND step = y

With one MATCH function it just repeats the first date. So I tried adding 2 MATCH() functions but it breaks:

I've also attached an excel file (see attached). Any ideas?
