# Multiplying Percentage's

1. ## Multiplying Percentage's

Hi,
I'm trying to do a IF formula where in H1 it will automatically work out what percentage to use.
QLD 4.80% NT 4.80%
TAS 4.80% ACT 5.60%
VIC 4.80% WA 6.40%
SA 4.80% NSW 8.00%
So in H1 i want to be able to have =IF(A1="QLD","TAS","VIC","SA","NT" and D1="1st",F1*4.8%)+IF (A1="ACT", and D1="1st",F1*5.6%) and the same for WA and NSW.

Thanks.

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

(Note: this change is not optional. No help to be offered until this moderation request has been fulfilled.)

6. ## Re: Multiplying Percentage's

Here's one way of doing it - put this in H2:

=IF(D2<>"1st",0,IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(A2,"QLDTASVICSANT")),4.8%,IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2,{"ACT",0.056;"WA",0.064;"NSW",0.08},2,0),0))*F2)

then copy down as required.

Hope this helps.

Pete
