    delete duplicates in one collumn

Hello everybody, I need a little help to make the job done.

Ive got columns A and B, in column A Ive got 10000 cells and in B 200, but now i need to compare this two columns and delete duplicates in column A.
Ive figure it out how to highlight cells in column A which are identical with cells in column B. In conditional formatting I used formula =countif($B:$B,A1)=1, is there any addition to make highlighted cells to disappear?

Re: delete duplicates in one collumn

You've posted this in the Formulas sub-forum, but a formula cannot delete data. What you can do is use a formula in another column which will extract unique values from column A, and then if you fix those values you will be able to delete the original column A.

If this is a one-off requirement, you can also use Advanced Filter on the Data menu which will allow you to get unique values with a few clicks of the mouse.

    Hope this helps.

Of course, that idea with extracting is simple and really good Thanks.
