    Pull Data from Date Range

    Hello,

I'm looking to create a formula that looks up the pay period based on an inputted date.

The trick is that I have 1 table with two different pay cycles on it, so I would want for it to control for which Pay Cycle is being addressed, then look up the date from the relevant pay cycle, and return the pay period number for that date.

In my example, we're looking at Cycle A as indicated by cell B1. The date I'm typing in is cell B2. I would want cell B3 to be a lookup based on the first two rows and the table of dates and pay cycles in columns E-G.

    Thank you!

You can try the following formula in B3:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

But for 31.10.2019 and Cycle A it will be #N/A because there's no 31.10.2019 at all in column E.

Thank you. So I think that is part of my challenge. The dates need to be rounded up to the closest date in the look up range.

Re: Pull Data from Date Range

I didn't read your request properly the first time, sorry. You wanted it for a "date range" not for a date for which I provided the above formula.

You can do it also for intervals with 2 formulas taken from here: https://superuser.com/questions/1333...g-a-date-range

and adapted for your data (make sure you enter this with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER as it is an array formula)
    Formula: copy to clipboard

I made it for a 3 day difference before and after, but you can change that according to your needs.

If this solves your request, please mark the thread as solved. Thank you.
