Ctrl + F through referenced cells

    Hey everyone!

So I feel like this is probably easy but for some reason I can't figure it out.

I have Sheet1 with information (a giant non-table a1:g500 for example), what I've done is created a second sheet ("Sheet2") and I have that information referenced on Sheet2. So, in A1 on Sheet2 the formula I have is ='Sheet1'!A4 and then pulled down and across. On Sheet2 I'm not able to search anything that's referenced from Sheet1. So if I highlight the entire column A on Sheet2, and try to find a specific name (Column A is full of Names), it won't find or select anything I search.

I hope that was clear enough, I couldn't even figure out what to Google in order to get this answer. Thanks in advance.

    Scott

Maybe you are searching for a value.

In your find options select look in formula

With Ctrl+F, click Options -- Look in -- Values
    Life's a spreadsheet, Excel!

Tried both Values and Formulas in the Options of the search and neither work.

Yet if I copy and paste the values in the column beside and then try searching, it works just fine.
