Formula to calculate days lapsed until end dated

Hi all


I'm a self taught user and thought I had a pretty good feel for excel, but I've come unstuck trying to find a formula that will calculate the days a task has been open, how many days it took before it was closed.



I've got a pretty complex spreadsheet I'm working on, basically I need to monitor whether things are being completed within a 100 day time frame.



There's a column counting the days from when the task was opened, but once its marked as completed it still continues to calculate the days because obviously I haven't worked out a formula that does this for me.



Attached is a mock spreadsheet that shows how I would like the end result to look.



It just seems to basic for me to not have worked out myself that I'm so embarrassed to be asking!



Any pointers will be appreciated,

Try this in B2:

=IF(C2>0,C2,TODAY())-A2
