Formula to match date then multiply by corresponding number to get sum?

    Exclamation Formula to match date then multiply by corresponding number to get sum?

    I need a formula to match the date in column A with the date in column J, then multiply the corresponding FX rate in column K with the number in column G and put in the answer in column H.

    For example I I want to match the date in A216 with the date in column J which is J216 and then multiply the FX rate for that date which is in cell K216 with the number in G216 and put the answer in H216.

    I have been really trying to figure this out but keep getting errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Uploading the actual workbook is always preferable to just a picture.

    Are the dates in column A always present in column J
    Are the dates in column J always in ascending order

    If so then try in H216 copied down

    where nnn is the row numbet for the last date in column K

    However I note that your current H216 is NOT $49605.57 * 1.3157. Are you sure you've told us the right calculation.

    Thanks, yes.

    It is the right formula if you select on the one row, but I would like to automate it for all the rows.

    I need a formula to match the date in column A and to find the date in the rows 216 to 235 (So to find the matching date out of all the rows in column J, then multiply the corresponding FX rate in column K with the number in column G and put in the answer in column H.

    Hope that clarifies?

    I'm still not understanding.

    I had not expected you to put the formula just in H216, I expected you to copy it down.
    Then if you wanted to see a total for each date a Pivot Table would wuikly do that, or indeed you could use a standard SUMIF() formula

    As has been suggested upload the workbook with all the results added manually so that we can see the end goal.
