Saving history when I make new entery

All,

I have a maintenance document that keeps records of maintenance performed.

When I make a new entry, I manually copy and save the old entry and paste it into another box.... then take the previous old entry and paste it into another box.

Is there a way to do this automatically?

So, I make an entry into A1, it takes to old entry and transfers it to A2..... and takes the old A2 entry and puts it in A3.

I get an "insert" then select "row" but says it can' use that function because of overlapping sections.

Oh, you can also just select the row and insert.

You can also select the cell,insert and shift cells down,

I don't know your setup, I can only go with the info you provided.
Do you possibly have merged cells?

Looking at your previous threads, you have placed them in Formulas & functions, but have only received VBA as the solutions.

If you want vba solutions, your threads need to be in the correct forum.

Right click, move cells down, works for me, despite addled brain fog.
