    Calculating the rolling average over a year to determine the number of overdue items

    I want to calculate how many overdue items are there looking back 12 months and create a rolling average

    perhaps you could use something like:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    I suspect your file is using tables so you can use structured references - e.g Tbl[field]
    (if you don't use structured references then try to avoid using entire column references with COUNTIFS as it's not particularly efficient)

    If you need more assistance I'd suggest posting back and attaching a file, as opposed to an image.

    Thanks for replying.

    I used structured references and my goal is to determine the number of overdue for each month.
    I implemented the formula you suggested but I had no luck.I have uploaded the excel sheet.

    Presumably you could add a formula to count the total in Col E then divide by 12 ?
