    The Sum of Two Cells

My knowledge of Excel is extremely limited. So, formulas I know, beyond addition and subtraction are non-existent. I have included the spreadsheet I work in daily. It is an Oil & Gas Production report for barrels of oil produced each day in two different tanks. Is it possible for X39 to show the sum of O(row) + R(row) on a daily basis? Each day I receive the new production of O + R. It seems simple, but it is not. I am hoping a formula exists that can return this sum.

Version: Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Worksheet (.xls)

Thank you for your reply. This formula shows the total sum of both O + R in X39. I just want the daily sum of O11+R11 on 1/7/2020 to show in X39. Then, I want the daily sum of O12+R12 on 1/8/2020 to show in X39, and again, the daily sum of O13+R13 on 1/9/2020 in X39 and, so on each day until the end of the month. What I want is the daily sum of barrels on that given day.

    .
Here is a MACRO approach :

Paste the macro in a REGULAR MODULE and place a COMMAND BUTTON on the sheet attached to the macro.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I have absolutely no idea how to do that. I don't know what a 'macro' and 'regular module' is. Neither do I know how to place a 'command button' anywhere. I was afraid this was going to go way beyond my understanding and skill level. And, it has. For me, it may just be easier to change the row number each day to reflect that days' production in X39.

What is a "regular module" or "VBA module" ? : https://www.emagenit.com/VBA%20Folde...vba_module.htm

How to create a COMMAND BUTTON and paste on a Worksheet : https://support.office.com/en-us/art...d-9c72c843a283

(When possible, preferably at all time, avoid the use of ACTIVEX buttons. ACTIVEX controls tend to be somewhat unstable and can create issues for your projects.)

Re: The Sum of Two Cells

    Hi vnorrell,

You can simply use add symbol to add cells, eg you want to add two cells A2,B2 then in C2, Enter =A2+B2.

Simply copy the above formula to the next cell in same column
