    Using PROPER

I've got a list of names where some of them are written in lowercase and some in UPPERCASE. These are in Column C. In an unused column (Z), I put in =PROPER(C3:C261). On quick glance, that gave me the results I was looking for but when I copied the results from Z and pasted them into C, I got #REF!. I don't know what to do to get those results copied over properly.

Also, should I be performing this act in an unused column or should I doing it right in C3?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Re: Using PROPER

Pasting the formulas gives them nothing to work with.

    You'll need to Copy/Paste.Paste_Special.Values

    Does that help?

    Re: Using PROPER

Paste SPECIAL as values, or copy in Excel, paste into Notepad, then copy in Notepad, and paste into Excel in the other location.
