Two Formulas in One Cell / If-Then ?

    Hello Everyone,

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to include two formulas in one cell or include an arithmetic formula in an If/Then formula.

My workbook is simple; column A and B are "depth" measurements, 0.01, etc. Column C is the difference between columns A and B, with B always being the larger number. Sometimes column A is non-existent, and needs to either remain blank or could be letters such as "ND". Column A should never be 0.00, because that would be incorrect. How do I create one formula which calculates the difference between col. B and A, but also returns the contents of col. A when col. A is not a number (either a blank cell (preferably) or alternatively the letters "ND" if ND were originally input col. A). Thanks.

It might help to attach a sample workbook. Don't include any sensitive information.

The spreadsheet is attached. Insert the same formula into column C to compute the difference between B and A or, if column A is blank, return a blank cell in C.

    In D7 then drag down:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

Use this if there is ND in either column:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
