Month to Date and Year to Date

Team,

this forum really made me into excel. i learn a lot from this site and try other new complex thing.
i had help previously from this forum, and im really stuck with it now.

i have a data jan - dec sheets, and a summary on the end.
at summary it has already showed my year to end by using data validation

now how can i use other data validation on coloumn PRICE, and it shows monthly not up to months

lets say i want to see the price in march only, adn year to date until month 12.

the reason is, if i sort either by number or alphabet, the amount stay correct like the one in coloumn up to month

that only apply for number, what about words? can it apply and showed monthly? because the PIC name always changes monthly?

sorry to confuse you, in summary, if i choose April, PIC Name will follow whats written on april, and if i choose May, PIC name shows who did it on May
