    AVERAGEIF Returns #DIV/0!

    I'm going to pull my hair out...

    See attached file. I've validated that AVERAGE and IF work as expected for the range, but I am going crazy trying to figure out why the AVERAGEIF just won't cooperate.

    Please tell me what stupid thing I'm overlooking doing wrong.

    Re: AVERAGEIF Returns #DIV/0!

    I think you need >> =AVERAGEIF(A:A,">=40",B:B)

    You need to specify the range for the average also, not just the range for the criteria

    =AVERAGEIF(range,criteria,average_range)

    I think it might be this:

    =AVERAGEIF(A:A,">="&40,B:B)

    Thank you both for your speedy replies. With your help I was able to correct my formula!

    I misunderstood the syntax for the formula, thus was attempting to misuse the formula.
