Return a cell value based on conditions

    Hi guys,

Is there a formula that would help me:

Return the value in cell E14 in sheet4, if E14 is empty:
Return E14 in Sheet3, if empty
Return E14 in Sheet2, if empty
Return E14 in Sheet1, if empty
    Return blank.

Edit - I am open to a VBA solution?

    Thanks!

    Hi
Would you upload a workbook with some examples. Ut's not at all clear to me at the moment what you actually want.
At the moment you don't say what the formula should return if E14 is NOT empty
Neithe is it clear whether you're referring to E14 on Sheets 1,2,3 etc of on the sheet containing the formula.

Re: Return a cell value based on conditions

    Hi Richard,

    Apologies for the confusion.

As you can see in the attached workbook:

Sheet1 E14 may or may not have a value
Sheet2 E14 may or may not have a value
Sheet3 E14 may or may not have a value
Sheet4 E14 may or may not have a value

In the Info sheet, cell E14 should show, based on the conditions and in the priority below:

First show the value in cell E14 Sheet4. If E14 in Sheet4 is empty,
then show the value in cell E14 Sheet3, If this is also empty,
then show the value in cell E14 Sheet2, If this is also empty,
then show the value in cell E14 Sheet1,
If E14 Sheet1, return nothing (cell E14 Info Sheet remains empty).

    Thanks.

Re: Return a cell value based on conditions

...as Hunterlock says..apart from a typo presumably where D1 should read E14.

If only 4 sheets are involved then this is probably the most straightforward otherwise with dozens of sheets VBA would,be preferable.
