    Using Excel as a Database

    Dear all,

    I have a challenge of using Excel as a Database, where user can select the items and rates by different suppliers.

    The condition ; i have
    1. Different city (now is 4 cities)
    2. Different supplier(now is 3 suppliers)
    3. Supplier rates (all submitted in same format)


    Now i want to do is , for the user
    • Select the city
    • Select the supplier
    • Select the services they provide; their rates will be returned

    How can i do it ? I have attached on what i did
    I can not figure it out how i can incorporate the "Supplier" into the filtering

    Hi Eric,

    Each row of your data needs to have a: City, Supplier, Service, Rate then it can work.

    The above seems like a lot of extra typing but this is how your data must look for it to be a valid database.

    Your supplier tab needs the data arranged like the above suggests. The way it is now can't do what I think you want/need.

    Thanks for your comment

    I have a 2nd thought

    I use a "work around"method, to concentrate the supplier and services, and Index and Match this "concentrated"coloumn

    See attached.

    It seems work but i hope there is a better way.
