Building a Matching system in Excel - Credits/Debits

I am looking to create a match algorithm for to match credits/debits between different individuals. I don't program for a living but can get it figured out with a little direction. So if I can get the get some direction on how to approach this in excel, I can easily figure it out.

Attached is the document that will describe what I am trying to do.

Notes: at the end of the calculation, total credits and debits for each will net out to 0.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Advice you to go with Pivot table.
    Firstly insert table in sheet1
    Then insert pivot,
    Row Labels : Individual
    Column Labels : Credit/Debit
    Values : Amount
    Refer attachment file.

Re: Building a Matching system in Excel - Credits/Debits

    Hi,

Your problem is just like allocation of stock according to First In First Out method, where we want to allocate the stock with receipts to issues. If you can seperate Debits and Credits and arrange debits in columns and credits in rows, then we can allocate debit to credit.

Here is a sample solution for your reference. Hope it helps.
