=SORT Not Enable In Office 2019

    Hi all,

I recently created a piece of work that utilizes function =SORT(UNIQUE( extensively. But to my understanding, these function are only usable in Office 2019 and Office 365 subscription.

I have Office 2019 installed in my PC but somehow, excel still fail to recognize the line above. How do I enable these functions? Is it even possible?

By the way, my most recent Office 2019 update as follows,

Thanks in advance for your help.

Both UNIQUE and SORT functions are only available for Office 365 Subscription users. If you want to port the functions over, you will need to use an Excel with Office Subscription 365 activated and updated.

    Thanks Jie Jenn,

Dang it, why would Microsoft decides to exclude some features and make it completely useless in other versions is beyond me. BTW, Thanks a lot for your prompt response, and have a nice one.

You don't consider $$$$ a possible explanation? MSFT wants as many Office users as possible paying annual subscriptions rather than use a perpetual license version for the better part of a decade. Thus, Excel in the subscription Office 365 bundle includes these features, and Excel in Office 2019 perpetual license versions don't.

Cynicism, but arguably wisdom: follow the money. It usually explains everything.

There are features that breaks excel prior to this one I'm using atm. I get it, new features would normally be part of new software upgrades. Hence, the license owned isn't perpetual. And FWIW, I'm using the latest excel available. And I get it that business entities needs to make money too.

But to expect people to pay in perpetuity, and to breaking the functions when people don't pay the way you want em to, is anything but wisdom. As if Microsoft don't make enough. That's pure greed, and evil.
