Create a unique ID for rows with same name and date of birth

Hi All

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the formulas or VBA forum. I'm open to either solution if it's possible
I am trying (and failing) to add a unique ID field to my employee data set

Is there any way to calculate a unique ID for those records with the same name and date of birth?
(I know there could be more than one person with the same name and dob but we don't have any other identifiable data at present so that's all we can do)

Preferably the ID would have 6 numbers after the prefix 'ID' i.e ID000102 or ID003217 as some the data sets are 15,000+ rows

As long as you didn't sort the database...maybe a row() formula could work
