Formula seeing a cell as blank even though it's not

Hi,
I have a formula in O6 that isn't working correctly, and I can't figure out why. When I have text in H5, the formula still sees it that cell as blank (you can see in the first picture that O6 shows G4 which is what is supposed to appear if H5 is blank). When I add text to any of the other cells in H5:H100 (as seen in the second picture), it works properly. It's only when I have only 1 item in H5:H100 and that item is in H5 that the formula doesn't work.

Any idea why this is or how to fix it? I've tried altering the formula using isblank, and that does the exact same thing.

No, unfortunately that just gives me an error message.

Also can you please supply a sample workbook.

So I'm using google docs because I don't have the most recent version of excel, and it won't let me put a link in to share. The most recent version of excel that I have is 2016, which doesn't have the UNIQUE function, so I can't even put what I have into an excel sheet to send you.

Essentially, what I'm trying to do is:
If H5:H100 is empty, I want O6 to populate with G4
If H5:H100 is not empty, I want O6 to populate with the following formula: UNIQUE(FILTER(H5:H100,H5:H100<>"")

I understand if you can't help me since I can't even send you a spreadsheet to really see what I'm trying to do.

If you are using goggle sheets, then you have posted this to the wrong section. I suggest you PM a moderator & ask them to move to the correct section.

As I know nothing about goggle sheets, I cannot help.
