Cool Return Table Value based on 2 conditions

    Hi guys,

    I need some help...

I have a restaurant chain with 10 restaurants. There are also 7 different ways that money is received into the branches.

Sheet 1 has information of all branches throughout the year.
1 table has the days of the month in the Y axis and the payment types in the X axis.
    This information is manually entered.

I want sheet 3 to select the correct table, based on the what MONTH and BRANCH the user selects. The lookup cells are at the top of Sheet3, in cells A1 (branch) and B1 (month).

I played around with the VLOOKUP function, to no avail. You can see that I have created one very long list on Sheet 2, which is all the 120 tables combined (12 months x 10 branches = 120 tables).

Please ignore Sheet2 if it is not required, it may come in useful though (note that I have entered all of the data in Sheet2 for January only. If this long list is going to be used, I will add the other 11 months).

Can anyone help me with this???

    Danny

Re: Return Table Value based on 2 conditions

    Hi,
What I did is changed the titles in Sheet1, line 3 to add the month & branch info.and make the titles unique.

I did it only for the first 2 tables as a demonstration. you can apply it for all your other tables.

in Sheet3 I also revised the titles in line 2 to reflect the month & branch that you type in cells A1 & B1.

now The index/match formula does the work.
