    Reformat $17,788,453 to $17.8M

Hello, I am certain that I am missing a very simple solution, but I honestly cannot figure out how to change dollar values in cells from for example $17,788,453 to $17.8M.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and stay safe!

For instance try using custom cell format
    $0.0 /M
note two spaces between 0 and /M
    Best Regards,

    Kaper

Excel does not seem to like this custom format - the message it gives me is "... cannot use the number format you typed. Try using one of the built-in number formats ..."

I added the two spaces, used the proper slash, etc.

    How about
    $0.0 "M"
or indeed version with commas (as space is used in Poland as thousands and millions separator, while you use commas for that).
    so yet another option:
    $0.0,,"M"

PS. You can test the formats in a nice online tool. I knew about it, but forgot (as it doesn not use my local settings :P) https://customformats.com/

Edit: Whoops - too late, but I've been looking for the custom format online tool above
