Conditional format with text string containing numbers greater than a specific value

In each cell from A1:A10 I have a concatenated text string that contains both a number and a word, e.g. "84 Apple". I want to apply conditional formatting so that if any of the cells contain a value greater than or equal to 80 my formatting applies. I am struggling with the formula needed to apply this though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Conditional format by formula would be easier if you can reference the cell where numeric value is originally located.

Thanks for the quick reply. The original location of the data is rather complex as each cell is doing a lookup based on multiple criteria from multiple columns of data on another sheet. Do you think it still be easier to reference that cell than create a formula just based on the text in cells A1:A10?

It's probably possible using extraction functions, like MID, RIGHT, LEFT, etc.
If you still have difficulties doing it, post a small Excel sheet showing realistic & representative sample data WITHOUT confidential information (10-20 rows) and some manually entered results.
Just before posting, scroll down to GO ADVANCED, click, and then scroll down to MANAGE ATTACHMENTS and click again. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
