Data Validation automatic case adjustment

When using a drop down box that references a table, is there a way to configure a cell entry that uses data validation that references a table to automatically adjust case to match the in the table's data? (for instance, if a table's data contents start with a capital (such as, Abby) then if I manually enter lower case characters (such as, abby) then my entry is automatically adjusted to match the case of the table's data).

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

I'm looking for something similar to the "AutoComplete" feature, but AutoComplete only references pre-existing data in the same column as the current cell. AutoComplete also corrects for case. This is similar to what I want to accomplish, except that I want it to reference data in a table located in another sheet instead of pre-existing data in the current column.
In the attached sample.xlsx, column "A" data entry cells reference the table Lists!$A$2:$A$9 via Data Validation.

1. In '2020'!A5, when I start entering "dis", since "dis" is a unique string of characters in the associated table, I want to either select the drop-down result via mouse-click or when I hit Enter at this point the entire reference - "Discover Card" should be entered in '2020'!A5.
2. In '2020'!A6, when I start entering "deb", since there are 2 (longer) table entries that start with "Deb", then I want to select the desired drop-down result via mouse-click or scroll (via cursor keys) to the desired of the 2 results - "Debit - Credit Union" in this scenario.

Once I have a solution for this I can also apply it to the other 2 drop-down columns.
Maybe there's a better way to accomplish this than the "Data Validation" feature?
