What time does overtime start on Friday?

At my company, overtime is calculated on a 40 hour per week basis. We are not authorized to pay overtime right now so I am trying to create a sheet where my employees enter their clock in/clock out times (with a 30 minute lunch automatically subtracted) and it can tell me what time they need to leave on Friday to avoid overtime. I made a couple of attempts but quickly realized that this is WAY out of my depth. This is probably a pretty easy problem for most of you so I'm hoping someone can help me. I really appreciate it!

What version of Excel do you have? There are multiple time sheet templates that they have available.
For example do you need a weekly time sheet, or a bi-weekly one or a monthly one? I can upload for you if you need to

I'm using Office 365. I've seen the templates they have for time sheets, but they are all for calculating overtime pay. My goal is to find a sheet that will give me the time of day on Friday (or Thursday if it has been a busy week) that they reach 40 hours. That way I can tell them "You need to go home at 2:00pm on Friday because that's when you hit 40 hours for the week."

Hi there,
Assuming you only work Mon-Fri and the adjustment is always on Friday, then have a look at the attached.
Mon-Thu we record the hours. Friday we work backwards from the 40 - Mon-Thu...
