Formula to calculate a spread

Hi

Would appreciate some advice on a formula..

I want to create a column that shows the spread between 3 positive numbers
i.e. i have 3 numbers in COL A-C, Id like a formula to calculate and populate the difference between any of those numbers and populate in D
Numbers will always be positive and between 1 and 10.
There is no significance of A,B,C i.e. it is a spread of the highest and lowest whether it is A and B or A and C or B and C etc...

e.g.
A B C D
8 8 6.5 1.5
9 9 9 0
4 2 8 6
9 8 9 1

have you looked at the max and min functions? Like maybe =MAX(A2:C2)-MIN(A2:C2)?
