    Conditional formatting depending on the day of the week

    Hi All,

    I have a table in Excel, contains 7 columns, one column for each day of the week like a timetable:
    saturday, sunday, mondey etc' (but in hebrew).

    I want each column, or at least the title of each column, to be colored while the day it is written is the current day, and so cyclically every week. It is possible?

    Thanks in advanced and good weekend.

    Thank you so much for the effort, bkod.

    But my idea was that the day column would automatically color when that day arrived (according to the computer or server calendar, etc.), as long as it is the current day (as can be done with dates).

    As the day ends at midnight, the next day's column will automatically be colored. is this possible?

    Thanks again.

    How about using this formula in the conditional formatting (your days of the week start in cell A4 and go to cell G4):
    =TEXT(TODAY(),"dddd")=A4
    See attached.

    @Bkod

    Sorry for off-topic interjection:

    Although there is no official rule regarding this behaviour, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

    I'm sure you understand, and we look forward to seeing you post your formulas/macros in your posts for the searching benefit of all.

    Gregb11 & bkod, thank very much, both. it works and it's ingenious.
    can't understand how you remember such formulas in mind.

    I agree that an example is worth a thousand words, I tried to attach an example but ror some reason I was unsuccessful (I'm pretty new as you see).

    Thanks alot and have a good week.
