Hope you gusy doing well and may i ask alternative for the below Formula.
=COUNTIFS($A$2:A2,A2) and the formula is in column "Q"
I could use this formula but due to larg exel file date i am unable to smothly access the file (it get crash).
Can some one easly define it please.

and what is the performance with
=COUNTIF($A$2:A2,A2)

Try this file Uniqe ID Faster.xlsb and let me know if it is faster. I ran it through an Excel Profiler program and it claimed it had too many "temp files" (whatever that means). If this one is faster I'll do more research.

hey Marvin. thanks for looking into this and my consern was formula even file challange though .. can we simplyfy the formula and may i ask what is the "Excel profiler program" ?. i do i do that myself ?

You didn't tell me if my .xlsb was faster or not. I'm not advertising but a guy in England has created an Excel Add-in. See http://www.decisionmodels.com/FastExcelV4Profiler.htm
It claimed you had two named ranges that were hidden or "unhappy". I tried to remove them to see if that was slowing things down. Was my attached above faster? Did the change from CountIfS to CountIf make it faster?
