Conditional Formatting Using "NOT"

Hello,

I have an existing spreadsheet that we want to add conditional formatting, so that if Column C is not equal to "Symptomatic" then Columns D-I would turn gray.

Please help, I've been working on this for hours and no matter what I do, every row turns gray.

Add conditional formatting with the formula =$C3<>"Symptomatic" assuming C3 is the first row of data (obv change the row number if its another row)
