Post Automatic Updating of Overdue Tasks

    Hi,

I have a spreadsheet that has a load of tasks which shows "Due Dates" in Column H, "Current status" (Open, Overdue, Closed) in Column I and "Days Overdue" in column J.

I'm trying to find a way that I can get excel to update statues automatically and find a formula that will show how many days overdue tasks are while the task is still open but stop counting once it's set to closed.

    For example:
    Today being 12/06/20
Task 1 has a due date of 20/05/20 and was completed on 27/05/20. I'd like the column J to show that it was 7 days overdue but not continue to increase as the days increase.
Task 2 has a due date of 30/06/20 is currently open so Column J will show 0 until 30/06, where Column I will update to Overdue and Column J will increase by each day until it's set to closed where it will stop.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Thanks

    Administrative Note:

    Welcome to the forum.

We would very much like to help you with your query, however the thread title does not really convey what your request is about. Tell us what you are trying to do, not how you think it should be done.

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

(Note: this change is not optional. As you are new, I have done it for you this time.)

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook.

Thanks for changing that for me.

I've attached a sample workbook. I wasn't sure how to populate columns G and H.

Column J will increase by each day until it's set to closed where it will stop.
You'll need VBA code for this bit - shall I move the thread for you?
