Highlight cell based on another cells value

Hi - I have a column of information. I want the cash balances listed in each cell of the column to be highlighted if the over/under target amount in the next column over is above a certain number.

    For example:

Cash balance listed in M2 is $245. Cash over/under in cell N2 is $300. So I want M2 to be highlighted. However if the balance in N2 is less than $300, I would not want M2 to highlight.

Can someone help? I am trying to set up conditional formatting to do this.

    What CF have you tried?

The following in M2 and applied to the whole of column M should work

    Formula: copy to clipboard

If there are blanks in column M you don't want to colour them then adapt it to

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Richard,

Actually the values in M2/N2 will always be different, and I only want M2 to highlight if the value in N2 is over 300. Does that make sense? The formula as you posted will only highlight M2 if M2 is less than the value in N2. Correct?
