    Creating Flexible Rent Roll

    Hello all,

I am attempting to create a monthly rent roll. My problem is that the lease terms for my tenants do not begin on the beginning of the months, for example, instead of 06/01/20 their lease commencement is 06/08/20. I wanted to make a create a rent roll that shows the total rent for each month with respects to changing lease terms within the month. I have tried to replicate this video: "Real Estate Modeling - Capturing Multiple Tenants With Different Leases," but that index formula does not work because my lease dates are not at the beginning of the month. I'm sorry I couldn't post the link to the video, but if you copy and paste that into Youtube, the short 5 min video will pop up.

Please let me know if I should provide more detail. Thank you for reading!

    Welcome to the forum.

You must provide the relevant details here, not expect anyone to view a video in order to be able to help you.

I will have a look at the workbook.

OK, so where in the workbook have you manually mocked up the results you are expecting?

Hi AliGW, thank you for the welcome. I included that in case anyone wanted to get more context on where I got my formulas. The index formula would work great with this workbook if my dates fell on the start of each month, but they don't - how would I go about fixing that?

You need to mock-up the results so that we can see what you want. There is no point sharing a formula that doesn't work and is giving the wrong results: that's a bit like asking someone to do a jigsaw using the wrong box lid as a guide!

Please try the following formula in cell B2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

Once the formula is entered drag the fill handle across to cell H2
To apply the formula to B3:H3 change references to row 9 so that they reference row 13 and references to row 10 so that they reference row 14.
