formula referencing (INDIRECT / VLOOKUP / INDEXING / MATCH?)

    Hi excel forum,

I am trying to find a way to formulate an email address by means of referencing a certain email format, given a first and last name.

In the selected cell, I have done this by using a nested VLOOKUP and an INDIRECT function. However, this isn't dynamic as I have had to refer to the specific cell for Donald Trump [F26][G26] in order to satisfy the condition for INDIRECT, instead of leaving it as john smith. The two other email addressed below I have manually typed in the email format.

Is it possible to reference a formula (which itself has a name input e.g. john, smith)?

    – thought: I think what I'm trying to do is make a f(x,y) function, no?

    best,

Because of there is not many cases of "format code" (10 cases), try to set the "format code" inside the formula, follow this instruction
    CHOOSE(format code (1-10),formular 1, formular 2,...,formular 10)
    For row 26:

    Thanks bebo,

I considered this and I supposed since there isn't that many cases it won't be too bad. Do you think this is the best approach to take?
