    Totalling Hours Formula (edited)

I'm sure this is just something easy I'm missing but how do I get the hours of work
to total in the yellow box to 49?

The daily formulas in your example are all screwed up (probably when you simplified the example) but what I think you are looking for is
Format cell F11 (Format Cells> Number custom [h]:mm
    Then just SUM(F3:F9)
    Is that what you need?

    My 2?

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires

Is there a way to convert the number of total number of hours back to a number
so as to multiply it by the hire rate?

So the 49:00 hours would become 49 and I could multiply it by eg 10?
