    Sum-ifs function

Dear Experts, I have added a workbook. The SUM-IFS function on the "Summary for Report Sheet', in the area shaded yellow, is not returning correct answers per the dummies data on the ingredient sheet. I cant also identify anything wrong with the formula. Can you help.

For Example: Criteria Monday and Spintex Summing criteria has been met and i expected 565 be returned for Monday. That nothing has been returned.

    Re: Sum-ifs function

A quick examination of 'Summary for Report'!B21 and 'Ingredients'!F6 shows that the text in B21 is "Monday " (note the trailing space character) and the text in F6 is "Monday" (no trailing space).

For the example, I put the day of week argument of the SUMIFS() inside of a TRIM() function to remove the trailing space, and that seemed to work. However, there is probably some value in exploring the data entry steps to understand where the trailing space came from, and to explore whether other variations are also possible.

    Sorry for off-topic interjection:

Although there is no official rule regarding this behaviour, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

I'm sure you understand, and we look forward to seeing you post your formulas/macros in your posts for the searching benefit of all.
