Change colour of date to red when date has passed

Hello

I am trying to change the colour of a cell when the date in that cell has passed.

I have tried a conditional formatting rule as uploaded in the word document attached but it doesn't work.

Can you help please?

Conditional formatting rule like =A2 < Today() for dates in the past comparing with today's date.
