SUMIFS not working - pulling zero

Hi,
I am not great with functions!
Hypothetically I am trying to calculate the amount of money my family gets paid per month. I usually look at previous spreadsheet and copy them over and that usually works just fine, not in this case. I want it to sort money by person by month and I just can figure it out. What am I doing wrong?

Here's my formula for my first table:

=SUMIFS(details!$E$5:$E$37,details!$B$5:$B$37,People!$D9,details!$G$5:$G$37,People!F$6)

a spreadsheet would be useful rather than an image
you could just do a pivot table
are the dates correct and formatted as dates and not text

its your dates that are the issue - you are converting to TEXT and so does not group in the sum by a date
I have changed the column G to match up with the header so its the 1st of the month
Also the name was 1 row out

I have also inserted a pivot table as an example, which does not need the column G
and groups dates into months
