    Linking two excel workbooks

    Hi all,

You may have seen a previous thread created by myself with queries on a few functions for a workbook, that i call job database.

**NOTE: My workbook which you will see mentioned below "Job Database sample" was too large to upload, instead i have attached a copy of the sheet within that work book that i am trying to copy to.**

I don't know if what i am asking is possible or if i am posting it in the right section of this site, if not in right section could someone inform me please. Basically you will see two different workbooks attached. One being Job database sample and the other being Engineer report sample. I am trying somehow to link certain cells form the engineer report to the job database, it will mostly cells from the first sheet in the engineer report workbook and some from the second, all going into the sheet titled "Job Entry" in the Job database workbook.

Is there anyway i can do this where ill only be filling out on the Engineer report workbook and the certain cells that i select will be copied to the other workbook. i cant just link them normally as the report workbook is basically like a template which would be filled out after every job and saved under a different name. So the link would follow the name change and next time that i go to use the template there is no link anymore. Also, its need to be in a way that it will go to the next available row where there is no data already in. So for every report filled out, a new row will be added to the job entry sheet in the job database workbook.

I have done some research and cant really find anything on this, I may be looking in the wrong direction or maybe its just not possible? I would greatly appreciate any information or help on this!

    Kind Regards,

    Cormac
