    Reordering Option Box sequence Numbers

    Hello all,

Using Design Mode in the Developer Tab, I created three Option Boxes and grouped them.
    • Each of them is linked to Cell A1.
    • if Option box 1 is selected, Cell A1 returns a value as 1.
    • if option Box 2 is selected, Cell A1 returns a value 2.
    • if Option Box 3 is selected, Cell A returns a value 3.

    Doubt :
    • Is there any way I can change this value being populated in Cell A1. The properties tab only asks to link a cell and it doesn't support formulas
    • Example : I want Cell A1 to return 16 when Option Box 3 is selected . is that possible ?

This not being an ActiveX control Option Box, I am unable to play around with

assign macros to the option buttons then you can use formulas within the macro to give the results you require.

    Hi subbby,
What you can do is place a formula that will give the desired result in another cell, and have the following cells or formulas point to that one. =if(a1=3,16,a1) or tie them all to a different cell and place the formula in A1.

Thanks. Is there no other way? Like to renumber the Options Box Sequence? The active X Option Box would let us edit this numbering in its properties tab. The form control's Option Box's properties isn't very helpful

    Thanks for the tip.

I guess you can make 16 Form Control option boxes, and use box 1, 2, and 16. You can then carefully place all of the unused boxes underneath the first box. Before you place box 1 at the top, make sure you
"bring it to the front" by right clicking the box and selecting "order...". I would also give it a white or colored background instead of leaving it transparent.
My first solution is far easier.
