Hello Everyone,
I work on the tech team at a nonprofit that uses Salesforce to capture donations. We have been having problems with the integration recently where not all of the donations listed as successful in our credit card processor make it into our Salesforce instance.
I need to manually insert several hundred records into the Salesforce database. However, I need to see whether or not the donors are brand new, or have given in the past. If they have given in the past, then an existing account will already exist. The account name will simply be the person's name. I originally tried to delineate between new vs repeat donors by exporting the existing accounts to Excel and using a VLookup. However, that did not do the trick due to duplicate account records. There are many accounts with the same name, e.g. "John Smith at X address" vs "John Smith at Y address".
Is there a way to create a more complex VLookup, or some other function that will check account name, address, and email addresses for a match or mismatch on all 3 values?
